About the Author F. After earning a graduate degree in Oceanography at the University of British Columbia, he was appointed head of the Physics Department at Vancouver Island University (VIU) in Nanaimo, BC. Professor Jerome later obtained an MBA in finance from UBC, where he was awarded the Schulich Fellowship for Entrepreneurship. He subsequently taught courses in business mathematics, corporate finance, personal financial planning, mutual funds, and securities analysis in VIU’s Faculty of Business. He holds a Chartered Financial Planner designation, and received the 1987 Outstanding Achievement Award from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning. Tracy Worswick holds degrees in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and Mathematics Education from the University of Western Ontario. Tracy's passion for teaching and her desire to deliver quality mathematics education stems from over 30 years of experience teaching Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, and Marketing Research courses in high schools and colleges in Ontario and Alberta. For the past 15 years, she has taught Mathematics and Statistics in Conestoga College's School of Business in Kitchener, Ontario. Tracy has contributed to previous editions of Business Mathematics in Canada as a reviewer and author of the iStudy and Connect website materials.
